Kate Towsey

Kate Towsey is one of the field’s defining voices in ResearchOps, with more than a decade at the forefront of building the discipline. She’s the founder and editor-in-chief of The ResearchOps Review and the author of Research That Scales (Rosenfeld, 2024). Kate also coined the widely used acronym PWDR (“people who do research”), wrote some of the earliest guidance on establishing research operations, founded the ResearchOps Community (stepping away in 2019), and launched the #WhatisResearchOps movement, which put ResearchOps on the map. With more than twenty years’ experience delivering operations across e-commerce, education, government, retail, and technology, Kate offers a rare mix of strategic clarity, out-the-box creativity, and practical, systems-level expertise.
